A few weeks ago I attended my first awards ceremony with Andrew, Pete and Alessandro from Resolve. This was no ordinary awards, this was the regional final of the National Apprenticeship Awards, and as an ex-apprentice at Resolve it's something I have been heavily involved with. We were also joined by Richard, my old tutor from QA Apprenticeships - the training company I got my apprenticeship through. This was an important night for me, and great to be able to celebrate our success.
We were surprised to be one of the three finalists for the Nuclear Decommissioning SLC Award for Medium Employer of the Year 2013, which is for businesses with 25 - 249 employees. We just cut the line to qualify with 26 members of staff, and it was a momentous achievement to be up against much larger companies. The awards received over 1,600 entries in total, and 236 of those made the regional finals.
We didn't win the award itself, but we did instead get an award for Highly Commended and were also put forward to be in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Companies of 2013.

This was an amazing night to be part of, and not only will we be taking on more apprentices in the future (I might even be involved in their training!), one day we might win the award as well.
