Have you ever wondered if there was a business email solution as accessible and easy to use as your everyday Google Mail, Yahoo Mail and Hotmail? If you have clicked on this blog you are about to find a solution that does exactly that.
So what do I need to access Emails with Office 365?
All Office 365 needs is an internet connection - it’s as simple as that. You can access your emails from all kinds of devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops. You can connect in a variety of ways as well - either using the built-in mail apps, a web browser or the great Office 365 OWA app. The luxury of Office 365 is that you don’t need to remember the device that has all the fancy configuration on. So, whether you’re on holiday in the Bahamas or on an oil rig in the middle of the Caspian Sea, your work emails are at the end of your fingertips with any type of internet connection.
At Resolve we have been using Office 365 for close to three years now and arguably it could be one of the best changes in the 12 years we have been around.
How do I have meetings and communicate with others when not in the Office?
Whilst working remotely, the key to working in a team successfully is communication. Working remotely does mean you’re not a few desk away from a team member, so how do you do it?
Skype for Business comes as part of Office 365 (licence dependant). Instant messaging has become an integral part of communication in a lot of workforces. Employees can send messages, jump into calls and share content with others at the click of a button. You no longer need to be sat next to one another to have meetings. Video conferencing with Skype for Business can make it seem like you’re all in the same room!
We even have a member of staff who works in Bornemouth and she still makes it to our team meeting every week (via Skype).
Can I access documents remotely as well?
Office 365 has a lot of communication and collaboration tools. You can now work anywhere, anyplace, anytime. You are able to share and save documents to a centralised location in OneDrive or SharePoint Online.
Gone are the days when you need to be on the company network to allow other employees to access that critical project document you have updated. When Joe Bloggs has finished editing that excel document and needs you to see it, all he needs to do is upload it to OneDrive. You will then have on-the-spot access with all your changes appearing instantly. One Drive and SharePoint online have made working remotely easier than ever, not only that but it massively benefits non-remote employees as well.
