A Year of Charity Fundraising at Resolve

IT Blog from Resolve, IT Experts in Sheffield A Year of Charity Fundraising at Resolve
In 2018, Resolve supported the Cathedral Archer Project. Hannah looks back at a year of fundraising.

This year, Resolve’s charity of choice was the Cathedral Archer Project. We have spent the year embarking on various office fundraising challenges to raise funds for the charity that provides essential services for the homeless in Sheffield. Since 1989, the Archer Project has provided a space for those sleeping rough, where they can shower, eat a hot meal and receive support in getting their lives back on track. In order to raise money, we have been up to all sorts: baking, gaming, eating, wearing festive jumpers and more. Hannah looks back at some of the year’s charity activities…

At the start of the year we got involved in Wrap up for CAP, which essentially involved getting cosy to raise money. We picked out our best knits (and woolly earrings) to support the Archer Project during the winter months. Here's the team in their snuggliest jumpers.

The Resolve team embarked on a Crash Bandicoot competition to not only find out who is the best at PS4 but to collect easter eggs for charity. One egg  = one attempt at the game. Kyran was the very worthy winner of this competition, where he won - surprise surprise - an easter egg.

Moving into the summer months, it was the World Cup, which was a good opportunity to host a sweepstake. There was a whole host of winners, including biggest loser, naughtiest team, runner up and overall winner. We raised a large chunk of money for the Archer Project too - winners all round (and nearly even England!)

In September, we were all fixated with the Great British Bake Off, so it seemed fitting that we hosted our own Resolve Bake Off. Contestants paid to enter, and judges paid to try the cakes. Joe was the stand out winner with his delicious focaccia. One member of staff said they'd like to eat it on a summer's evening with a glass of wine.

Neal braved the cold to join in with the Archer Project's Sleep Out. He spent the night sleeping in Sheffield City Centre and raised £180 for the homeless charity in order to support those that find themselves sleeping out every day of the week. Well done Neal!

Of course, we rounded off the year with a Wear a Christmas Jumper Day. We dug out our favourite Christmas jumpers to get into the festive spirit and to raise money. Don't the team look lovely? Their eclectic fashion choices really brightened up the office.
