This week, Resolve is getting festive in a variety of ways in order to support Jubilee Food Bank. We have a special food collection point and there’ll be chance for everyone to dig out their favourite Christmas jumpers too.
Jubilee Food Bank provides food for individuals in crisis, generally reaching 20-25 families per week. The voluntary team, visit homes every weekday, providing them with much-needed supplies. Families will be referred by an organisation already providing them with support.
We decided to support Jubilee Food Bank this year because the work they carry out is integral to those who find themselves in a difficult situation. From April to September in 2016, they have carried out 402 home visits, seen 309 different families and fed 873 people a minimum of 7875 meals. So, pretty important to lots of different people!
And if you are interested in helping out too, it’s actually really easy. All you need to do is add a few extra bits and bobs to your shopping list and then leave the food at a Jubilee Food Bank Collection Point. The full list of collection points can be found on the website, here: http://www.jubileefoodbank.org.uk/dropoffs/
In 2017, we will be looking to support Jubilee Food Bank in a variety of ways. Watch this space for more fun charity activities. In the meantime, you can find out more about Jubilee Food Bank here: http://www.jubileefoodbank.org.uk/
